ORGANIZER-CONFIRMED TREK

Torna Fort

Climb Torna (Prachandagad), the highest fort in the Pune district and the one Shivaji Maharaj captured in 1646 to begin his Swarajya journey. The trail starts at Velhe village and climbs steadily through forest and rocky stretches. Two bastions, Budhla Machi and Zunjar Machi, are along the way, and the summit has wide views of the Sahyadri ranges. It's a medium-difficulty trek, and most of it is on a well-marked trail. Included: - Pune to Pune transport in a traveller, with permit and toll charges - Breakfast in the morning: poha and tea - One-time lunch, veg or non-veg (pick when you register) What to carry: - Hat or cap and sunglasses, because it's hot and much of the climb is in the open - Sunscreen - 2 to 3 litres of water, plus ORS or glucose for the heat - Trekking shoes with good grip, not sandals or flip-flops - Small daypack - Light snacks such as dry fruits, chikki or biscuits - Personal medicines - Small cloth or towel - Carry your trash back down
